Death Note II: The Hidden Note
Chapter 1: A New Note Is Opened.

We first see a place called the Watari Orphanage. Inside, there's a guy who is sitting in a chair at a table. The chair he's sitting at is next to a window and he is looking out of it. This guy looks like he is bored out of his mind. He then starts to think/have an inner monologue:
"Today's my birthday. Too bad I don't have any parents to take me out to celebrate. "
The guy looks over at the other kids in the same room he's in as he thinks:
"It's not like they would want to celebrate with me. Not with the curse I have."
We now see this guy's point of view. He sees all of the other kids in the room and they all have names in Japanese and different numbers above their heads. As we see this, the guy thinks:
"Ever since I can remember, I've seen the names of people above their heads and numbers that seem to have a relation to the name. At first, I had no idea what they meant.I eventually figured out that the numbers represented how long it was until that person died."
The guy now looks up as he continues to think:
"Because of this, I was able to correctly predict how long it was until random people that I saw were going to die. Everyone I called a friend became afraid of me when my prediction was correct and I've become a loner because of it."
The guy looks out of a window as he thinks:
"I don't even know who my parents were or what they looked like. Seems I was one of those cases where I was given to this orphanage without the one who left me here saying anything about me other than  my name."
The guy then looks down as he thinks:
"Why did my parents name me KJ? I don't even know what that means."
The guy, who we now know is named KJ, closes his eyes and lets out a sigh as he thinks:
"If anyone were to ask me, I would say that this world is rotten."
A woman comes up to KJ and says:
"Hey KJ! It's your birthday! You should be celebrating!"
KJ opens his eyes to look at the woman and says:
"With who? Any friends I had were scared off because I knew when people were going to die."
The woman smiles and says to KJ:
"Today's your eighteenth birthday, right? I have a present for you."
KJ asks:
"A present? Who could possibly want to give me a present?"
The woman says:
"Well, it's actually from your mother. It was given to us along with you and she told us not to give it to you until your eighteenth birthday."
KJ now has a shocked look on his face as he asks:
"What? My Mother?"
The woman brings forward a box that she has been holding behind her back and says to KJ with a smile:
"Happy birthday."
KJ looks at the box and asks:
"What's in it?"
The woman says:
"We have no idea. Your mother said it should only be opened by you, so none of us know."
KJ grabs the box from the woman's hand while saying:
"Give me that!"
KJ places the box on the table. He then takes the cover off of the box. He has a surprised look on his face as he sees what's inside. The woman asks:
"So, what's in it?"
KJ reaches into the box and pulls out a long piece of paper that has a whole bunch of words on it. KJ says:
"It appears to be a letter of some kind."
The woman asks:
"What does it say?"
KJ is reading the letter from the right and seems to be reading downwards as he says:
"Let me see here..."
As KJ starts to read the letter, we see what he's reading on the top or bottom of the screen:
"Dear KJ, If the people at the orphanage did what I told them, you are reading this on your eighteenth birthday. I'm sure you don't know who I am or who your father is. You are probably wondering what your name KJ is short for. To tell you the truth, it's an abbreviation for..."
KJ looks up from the letter and asks:
"Kira, Junior?"
The woman has a surprised look on her face as she says:
"What?"
KJ looks at the woman and says:
"According to this, KJ is short for Kira Junior."
The woman asks:
"Is that all it says?"
KJ looks back at the letter and says:
"No. There's more."
KJ continues to read as we see what he's reading:
"My name is Amane Misa. Your father, Yagami Light, died before you were born. To explain how you came to be, it all started about nineteen years ago..."
We now see what appears to be somewhere in Japan where a man and a woman are standing in front of one another. The man has an evil look on his face as he says:
"Misa, as you know, I am going to be having a meeting with Near very soon. However, I have a feeling that something's not right about it. So there's something that I need you to do."
The woman, who we now know is Misa, smiles at the man and says:
"Whatever you want of me, Light, I will gladly do for you."
The man, who we now know is Light, brings out what looks like a small test tube. He says to Misa:
"I want you to take this and keep it safe."
Light hands it to Misa. She looks at it and asks:
"What's in it?"
Light says to Misa:
"Misa, if anything should happen to me, then I want you to take the contents of that and pour it into your private place."
Misa has a surprised look on her face as she asks:
"What private place?"
Light brings Misa close to him with one arm as Misa has a look of surprise on her face. He then puts his other hand over where Misa's vaginal area would be and says:
"The only private place you have."
Misa looks up at Light and smiles as she says:
"Oh Light, of course I'll do that for you!"
Misa hugs Light as we now see that Light has an evil smile on his face.
We now come to the present as KJ keeps reading the letter. The letter goes on to say:
"Sure enough, when he went to see Near, he was killed. First shot by Matsuda and then a shinigami known as Ryuk wrote his name in his Death Note before he died from the bullet wound. A week later, I poured the contents into my private place and nine months later, you were born. I wrote this letter to you, put it in the box this was in and brought you to the orphanage. If you want to find out more about your father, here's what you need to do."
KJ puts down the letter back into the box as the woman asks:
"Well? What did it say?"
KJ says:
"It's a letter that tells me of how I was born. It also tells me what I need to do to find out about my father."
The woman asks:
"What does it tell you to do?"
KJ asks:
"Is there an apple somewhere nearby?"
The woman has a surprised look on her face as she asks:
"Why do you want an apple?"
KJ says:
"According to this, I need to hold an apple in my hand and say something."
The woman smiles and says:
"Give me a minute and I'll get one for you."
We now move from in the orphanage to the world of the Shinigami. We see that Ryuk is sitting down next to another Shinigami. Ryuk asks:
"Hey, Arik, want me to tell you the story about that one human guy who thought he was one of us until he got shot and I wrote his name in my Death Note?"
The shinigami, who we now know is Arik, turns to Ryuk and says:
"I remember hearing about that, though I was never told the whole story."
Ryuk says:
"Well, since I was there for all of it, I can tell you my firsthand experience with the guy."
Arik turns away from Ryuk and says:
"Alright then, if you insist."
Ryuk then stands up and says:
"It all started when I was standing over the way to the human world and I accidentally dropped my Death Note."
We go back to the orphanage as the woman has now come back and is handing KJ an apple. She says:
"Here's the apple you asked for, KJ."
KJ takes the apple and looks at the letter he still has in his other hand. The woman asks:
"Well? What does it tell you to say?"
KJ looks at her and says:
"It doesn't make much sense, but I'll try it anyway."
The woman closes her eyes and smiles as she says:
"Alright then."
KJ holds the apple up to the ceiling and says:
"Ryuk, I have an apple here for you. The ones in the shinigami world taste awful, but the one I have in my hand is so juicy and yummy. If you want it, come and have a taste. I'll be waiting for you, Ryuk."
We cut back to the Shinigami world as Ryuk looks up and asks:
"Hm?"
Arik asks:
"What is it, Ryuk?"
Ryuk says:
"I thought I just heard someone calling out to me."
Arik asks:
"Are you sure?"
Ryuk says to Arik:
"Yes. It offered me a juicy apple from the human world since the ones here taste awful."
Arik says:
"Is it human?"
Ryuk says:
"It must be. The only one I ever told about me loving apples from the human world was the guy I was telling you about. He told this human girl who loved him and she used an apple once to bribe me."
Arik asks:
"Did it work?"
Ryuk scratches his head as he says:
"Of course it did. Though I haven't heard anything about her ever since that guy died. "
Arik asks:
"Are you going to go and investigate?"
Ryuk says:
"I might as well. It's starting to get boring up here again and I could use the entertainment."
Arik asks:
"Can you do that after you finish the story?"
Ryuk says:
"Sure."
Arik asks:
"So, what happened next?"
Ryuk says:
"We were in his his room, and I said: "Light, since nobody's home, let's play Mario Golf. We haven't played in awhile."
We cut back to the orphanage as the woman has a scared look on her face. She asks:
"Did you just say shinigami?"
KJ turns to her and says:
"I only said what the letter told me to say. I don't know who this Ryuk person is, but hopefully he will tell me something about my father if I ever meet him."
KJ puts the apple down on the desk. He then takes the letter and folds it four times. After this, he tears it in half one way and then tears it again the other way. The woman is surprised at KJ doing this and asks him:
"Why did you do that?"
KJ has put the pieces into a neat little pile on the table as he says:
"The letter was supposed to be read by me and me alone. To ensure no one else reads it, I had to do something so that no one else could read the letter in it's entirety ever again."
The woman now asks:
"So what are you going to do with the apple?"
KJ picks up the apple and says:
"I am going to take this juicy apple..."
KJ then makes an evil grin as he says:
"And eat it!"
The woman asks:
"Really?"
KJ looks at her and says:
"Of course not. If I did, then there would be nothing left for Ryuk to eat when he comes looking for it."
KJ then says:
"By the way, you have ten years, six months, two weeks and four days until you die. If you want to live longer, I would suggest you quit a bad habit that you have."
The woman is surprised as she asks:
"How did you know that I have a bad habit?"
KJ says:
"Judging from how old you are now and how much longer you have left to live, I decided that the only explanation as to why you have so little time left is because you have a habit that will kill you if you don't get rid of it right now."
The woman then walks away from KJ as she says with an uneasy look on her face:
"If you say so."
KJ now puts the cover back onto the box as he thinks:
"I don't know who this Near person that my father told my mother about is, but considering that my father died not long after meeting Near, then he must have had something to do with him dying."
KJ then stands up from the table and thinks:
"I guess I'll go to my room now. Nothing more to do here anyway."

End of Chapter 1
First chapter of a sequel to Death Note I wrote. Edited to flow better since I last read it. Hope you like it.
